The ability to create, distribute and use knowledge and information is the most important factor that drives growth, progress and quality of service. Recognizing that ICT is an important driver to achieve this objective, the Academy also focuses on the use of ICT in all areas of management, learning and training in line with current technological changes. The National IT Agenda which aims to make the country an informed society in line with the objectives of Vision 2020, focuses on human development and increased collaboration between public and private sectors. Hence the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Academy has set up an ICT Unit on May 1, 2005 to further strengthen the program and courses at the Academy. The main role of this unit is to provide ICT support and assistance services in the implementation of major Academy courses and programs such as audio-visual documentation, filming, scientific materials printing, magazine publishing, desktop publishing, preparation of course certificates organized by the Academy and the provision of teaching auxiliaries such as laptops, LCDs and PA systems.
